Dr. Wendy Torres, BCBC

Dr. Torres, BCBC, is a Board Certified Biblical Counselor with years of experience as a marriage and family counselor. She has maintained a private practice in Grand Prairie, Texas, since 2009, working with a broad spectrum of clients. As a graduate of Light University, she specializes in individual, family, and marriage therapy. She is also the author of Healing Waters, The Adventures of The Brave Bear Family, and Las Aventuras de la Familia Osa, further extending her passion for strengthening families through counseling and literature.

Dr. Torres has received two honorary doctorates from Focus Christian University: a Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Leadership in Business and a Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Counseling. She is an honorary doctorate designee at Trinity International University of Ambassadors (TIUA), School of Business, and is scheduled to receive her third honorary doctorate in December 2026.

Her areas of expertise also include depression, anger management, conflict resolution, eating disorders, grief and loss, parenting issues, sexual dysfunctions, communication, divorce recovery, support for pastors and ministers, addictions, infidelity, marital conflict, premarital counseling, and women’s challenges.

Dr. Torres has been recognized among the top three rated marriage counselors in Grand Prairie, Texas, every year from 2016 through 2026. In addition to being a prominent relationship counselor, she has hosted a daily syndicated radio show on local radio stations in Dallas, Denver, and Indianapolis, as well as weekly live shows online. She has hosted an international show reaching audiences in Australia, Africa, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom, and a weekly show on Victory Television Network.

Dr. Torres has been actively involved in ministry work for more than 27 years. She has presented at Christian marriage conferences, women’s conferences, and to general audiences, speaking on marriage relationships, family relationships, and encouragement for women. She serves as a volunteer on the staff of The Pregnancy Resource Center in Grand Prairie. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and co-partners with Marriage Today. She has also been featured as a column writer for Manna Express and Heart and Soul Magazine.

Dr. Torres has been recognized by The International Who’s Who Among Professional and Business Women as one who sets the standard to excel, inspire, and motivate. She was a 2014 REVIVE Award honoree, recognized for her contribution to people’s emotional well-being. She has also been awarded “Woman of the Week” by The Single On Purpose Ministry in Dallas. She is both an Advisory Board Member and Presidential Member of the Christian Women in Media Association (CWIMA).

Dr. Torres has completed numerous training sessions with The Gottman Institute, including The Gottman Method for Treating Affairs and Trauma, The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, Gottman Level 1, and Gottman Conflict Resolution, to further her education and knowledge.

Dr. Torres is an interactive, solution-focused counselor. Her therapeutic approach provides support and practical feedback using biblical principles and wisdom from God’s Word, as led by the Holy Spirit, to help her clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates the Word of God, prayer, and complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client’s needs. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
